You might think of this as the town drag strip. Leverich is not long, and it's built for speed (particularly the downhill). In 2011, the Gallatin Valley’s Bicycle Club’s mountain biking arm, called The Dirt Concern, got cozy with the Forest Service and sketched out some alterations to an existing trail south of town. The climb was altered to include rideable, south-facing switchbacks through widely spaced spruce. Conditioned intermediates can clean it, but it’ll bring most riders to a lather. The improvements on the DH built up new berms, better drainage, and a few small airs were added to an incline that is perfect for stretching your velocity comfort zone.
If you’re looking to... ditch the soul-sucking car, Leverich is just a few miles south of Bozeman. Leave the wheels in town, get on South Willson, and just keep going.
