While giving a railcar of respect to the professional photographers out there, the Magpie must confess our love for featuring the top-shelf work of recreational photographers. Today’s images are the work of Dr. Carl Roth, an optometrist at Bridger EyeCare on North Seventh Avenue in Bozeman. Long before he was Doctor Roth, he saved up his lawn-mowing money to buy his first camera, a Pentax ME Super that he shot with for 22 years.

(Normally we ask for something close-up for the pictures of our contributors, but this photo of Carl looked like too much fun to pass up.)
